AccueilDe G-GAP.WELCOME on G-GAP projectThis project aims at investigating the consequences of the discoveries of new phenomena (large slow slip earthquakes (SSEs) and non volcanic tremors (NVTs)) and of new methods of seismological, geodetic and tectonic interpretations to the evaluation of the seismic hazard in a particularly active region where SSEs and NVTs are attested. This program takes place in Mexico, with seismological and geodetic studies in the state of Guerrero, along the subduction zone. You will find in this site all the informations related to the G-GAP project, funded by the french ANR "RiskNat" from 2009 to 2012, with scientific purposes, people involved, maps, field work informations (with pictures), quotations for material, ... all the informations and the documents which need to be shared

Science & workSeismologyThis section is devoted to shear informations on the seismological part of the project. In the first part you will find maps, pictures and descriptions of the seismic mini-arrays. Sites & mini-arraysFrom august 2009 to June 2011, 9 mini-arrays have been installed (or are still under installation) to record earthquakes, non-volcanic tremors and noise. They are composed of 1 broad-band station in the middle (CMG40) and 6 1-component short-period sensors Consult this link for more information http://tlacaelel.igeofcu.unam.mx/~vladimir/SMA_web/ Non-Volcanic Tremors (NVT)under construction... GeodesyYou will find in this section all the informations related to geodetic studies Global Positioning System (GPS)8 new permanent GPS have been installed in summer 2009, to densify the existing network from IG-UNAM, where observations are missing. Thanks to the positioning time series calculated with GPS data, we can retrieve the surface deformation related to the Slow Slip Events (SSEs).
See the time series for some stations using an automatic GPS analysis with a D-4 latency. To get id and password, contact Nathalie.
